I Can't Stop Thinking About Demi Moore's Fully Carpeted Bathroom

Question for ya: You know bathmats? Sure you do. They're those little rectangles of rug that you keep next to your shower so you don't slip when you step out. Some fancy people even have ones that fit snugly around the base of their toilet. I bet you have one in your bathroom right now. Another question for ya: Have you ever looked at your bathmat and thought, Gee, I wish this covered the entire expanse of my bathroom floor instead of the customary and practical tile I see beneath my feet? Well, apparently, Demi Moore has dared to dream — and do — exactly that.

On Wednesday, July 8, Moore posted two photos of herself having a virtual meeting on a MacBook in her spacious bathroom, along with the caption, "Excited to finally share what I've been working on! First episode of #DirtyDiana drops Monday, July 13" — which completely buries the lede. The actor fails to address the multiple elephants in the (bath)room: namely, the floral couch she's sitting on — situated right in front of a sink, vanity, and toilet — and the fact that the bathroom floor appears to be completely covered, wall to wall, in brown carpet. And a coffee table! (I'm going to pretend I don't even see what appears to be a statue of a seemingly medieval fellow stationed on one end of her bathtub.)

Understandably, the internet is vocally bewildered. Twitter user Alexis Wilson tweeted, "Starting a Slack channel for the sole purpose [of] discussing why Demi Moore has both carpet and a couch in her bathroom," which prompted replies from other perplexed onlookers. "I refuse to believe this is her house. I refuse it," one person wrote, while another eagle-eyed Twitter user said, "Oh to be the tiny monkey overseeing the toilet in Demi Moore's carpeted bathroom with a Joan of Arc statue and a couch."

Not that Moore has any obligation to explain what the hell is going on in her bathroom, but… she hasn't yet. Thankfully, an ample faction of social-media dwellers appears to be committed to investigating and analyzing the unusual decor, so find a spot on your shabby-chic, toilet-adjacent sofa and get comfortable as we wait for answers.
