Don't you just love Lizzo? A true multi-hyphenate, the singer, songwriter and flautist is also the owner of her own shape-wear brand YITTY, and a style icon to boot. By now, we all know that Lizzo reps an "anything goes" brand of style that is truly iconique. Whether rocking bum-less leggings, a Barbiecore bikini, Balenciaga's most viral look yet or running into the ocean in a wedding dress, she's always bringing something unexpected into the mix.
She's also totally glam when it comes to hair and beauty: rocking an indie sleaze-style fringe, spirali pasta-inspired nails and adorable space buns over the past year. And she's totally candid about all things body positive, opening up about everything from stretch marks to weight gain. In short, Lizzo's got range, that's for sure. But one thing we never expected from her? A goth glam makeover.
Yep, the Renaissance woman has debuted a seriously dramatic transformation. In a new set of photos and video posted to her Instagram feed on 20 August, the musician revealed a gothic look while modelling a YITTY bodysuit. In the high-necked black top, she rocked stunning black lipstick and larger-than-life, fluttery eyelashes. We've never seen Lizzo try out a look so gothic before but, unsurprisingly, she makes it work!
Her 12.8 million followers seemed like big fans of the look too. The comments on the 34-year-old's IG post included "THE LEGEND 🔥🔥🔥", "I NEED THAT 💅🏾💅🏾💅🏾" and "BEATIFUL [sic] QUEEN" and we couldn't agree more.
Lizzo isn't the only one to wow fans with a vampish transformation. For a Versace campaign earlier this year, Lily James donned latex gloves, a black wig and dark lipstick. Ashley Graham has also been in on the action, with an emo look featuring a mesh top and facial piercings.
Watch out, emo girl autumn may well be upon us...
