Can't make out the words on your favorite shows? This TV speaker can help — and it's just $109

Aging is for the birds, so they say — but not even birds have to deal with poorly balanced TV audio. If you struggle to make out dialogue on screen and find yourself turning on subtitles just to get the gist of the action, Simolio Wireless TV Speakers are for you. These are designed to help those hard-of-hearing enjoy watching TV again, without the need to blow out their speakers. Right now, you can score a set for $109 — that's 10% off the normal price thanks to an on-page coupon.

This kit comes with an extra headset, two adapters, and 100 feet of range to help you reclaim prime-time TV. It's designed to work with all types of TVs, too.

Why is this a good deal?

Hearing loss is a normal part of life, but it can feel extremely limiting. And while we realize that at $109 these are still kind of pricey, the audio improvement they deliver can make a huge difference for someone who doesn't hear as well as they once did, and you can't put a value on that.

Why do I need these?

This system is designed for easy use. Unlike similar products that require a lot of setup and numerous converters (that, in other words, lead the user down a techy sort of rabbit hole), the Simolio system doesn't require a digital-to-analog converter. It works with optical, RCXA, and auxiliary audio outputs, as well as most DVD and media systems.

It works by essentially moving the speakers closer to you. Sure, there are headsets included — but you can also just place the speaker behind you so that you can hear it without the need to turn the volume up to neighbor-aggravating levels. It doesn't require Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, either, so it will work even in homes that have neither of those (or on TVs without those capabilities).

Believe it or not, even fast-talking British murder police will sound clear as a bloody bell with one of these.

What reviewers say

"I'm quite impressed with this speaker. Set it up for my 95-year-old father who, even with hearing aids, found it hard to hear the TV well enough without blasting the volume at a level that would disturb the neighboring residents," reported one shopper.

Another customer vouched for Simolio's customer service. "I purchased the portable speaker for my mom and it’s exactly what she needed, great product! And when we damaged the battery cover they sent out a replacement promptly."

"The only real downside is they do work best with a clear line of sight to the transmitter, even though that shouldn't be as important with the 2.4 ghz frequency; and it is essential to have the distance between the transmitter and the TV/cable box as recommended in the setup instructions. It does pick up interference if it is too close to other electronics," one reviewer said.

If you struggle to hear, don't worry — you can bring the sound to you instead of cranking the volume up to 11.
