Thanksgiving is a stressful time for many. There's always the chance you'll be roped into a chat with your super-political aunt or sat at the kid's table. But no more! Thanks to a new product by cannabis edibles company KIVA Confections, your holiday can now go as smoothly as gravy...or better yet, THC-infused gravy.

Yes, you read correctly. "Turkey, mashed potatoes, awkward conversation–you can drown them all" in this lush THC gravy, according to KIVA, who re-released the limited-edition item again this year by popular demand.

Let's just say this gravy is truly herby, infused with thyme, rosemary, and (actual) oregano. Each single-serving packet contains 10 mg of THC, which is seen as a "moderate dose" for experienced imbibers, according to Leafly. So start slow when topping those mashed potatoes at your next, uh, pot luck.

In a recent study conducted by cannabis operator AYR Wellness and Suzy, a global market-research platform, a whopping 34 percent of U.S. cannabis consumers are planning to incorporate weed-infused dishes into their holiday get-togethers this year.

The study also uncovered some truly compelling Thanksgiving (or rather, "Danksgiving") stats, reporting that:

  • 70 percent of U.S. cannabis consumers are purchasing cannabis to ensure they have enough to share with friends, family, and chosen family.

  • Of people who consume cannabis on Thanksgiving, 65 percent said it will replace alcohol.

  • 24 percent say they are consuming cannabis on Thanksgiving to deal with family drama.

AYR Wellness CEO Jon Sandelman said that as stigmas around weed use break down, he looks forward to the day when "cannabis will be as synonymous as pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving."

We've got tons of ideas on how to incorporate this product into your favorite winter recipes. Maybe a light drizzle on top of your next batch of poutine? Or on simmering Salisbury steak? Layered into a shepherd's pie? Whatever you choose, this gravy will take you (and your dinner) in a lot of different directions.

If you want to jump on the THC-gravy train, KIVA Confections is having a holiday sale on their limited-release gravy (only $5!) for customers in California online and in dispensaries across the state.
