Going to a pet store with your dog is like going into a candy store with your child. They go wild and you can never walk out with just one item. Our dogs will sniff every single toy until they find the perfect one. And forget about the bone aisle, they’ll steal everyone if they could. LOL!
That’s why we can’t help but laugh at this recent clip from TikTok user @maritza_barona - it’s oh-so relatable. This Cane Corso attempting to steal from the pet store is probably what all employees have to deal with. Take a look!

LMAO! This dog was truly trying to make a run for it. And then when his owner tried to grab the toy from him, he thought it was a game and kept going after it.
“He’s like, ‘They can’t arrest the dog right?’” commented @playboylucas1. HA! We’ve never seen a dog arrested and heck, even the employee just said to take the tag off so technically it’s not his fault! He was just taking what was rightfully his. @izzym36 added, "I work in a pet store and tell people all the time just get me something to scan. LOL. I feel bad taking the toy away." Aww! That's so sweet! (And don't worry, we won't tell your boss you do that. LOL!)
Now, if you know your dog is a bit of a toy stealer and you don't want to risk them getting arrested at the pet store, try making some homemade dog toys. Homemade toys are a great alternative especially since ones online or in the store can cost an arm and a leg. You can ball up a bunch of newspapers, making sure it's big enough they won't swallow it, and throw it. Dogs will have fun ripping it to shreds. You can also make a rope toy made of leftover fleece or an old blanket. The possibilities are endless!
