If you grew up idolizing Laura Ingalls and rightfully fangirling over Michael Landon on Little House on the Prairie, we have incredible news. The beloved book-turned-television-series based on the real-life Ingalls crew has officially made its grand debut into the 21st century via Amazon Prime Video.
Cancel your weekend plans and cozy up in your binge-watching outfit because all nine seasons are now officially available through the streaming service. Prepare to lose it once more when Mary goes blind (still not over this), happy cry during Laura's wedding to Almanzo Wilder, and throw popcorn at your TV when an anthrax outbreak wreaks havoc on the pastoral Walnut Grove.
The premise of the wholesome show, which originally aired on NBC in 1974, surfaced from Laura Ingalls Wilder's popular Little House book series (inspired by her own upbringing). The TV rendition followed the quaint pioneer lives of Charles and Caroline Ingalls, who raised Mary, Laura, Carrie, and adopted children Albert, James, and Cassandra on Minnesota farmland in the late 1800s. Melissa Gilbert stars as protagonist and frequent narrator Laura. Little House on the Prairie sadly called it quits in 1983, but the Hallmark Channel came to the rescue with reruns later.
A whopping four decades after the series' inaugural episode, we're finally blessed with the next best thing since cable replays. So, what are you even doing right now!?
