Depending on what home aesthetic you want to achieve, there are many different styles to choose from. "Gothic" to "mid-century," as well as "industrial farmhouse," are all pretty popular styles people choose to decorate their homes.

DIYer Bailey from Calgary, Canada, also decided on more of an industrial farmhouse look for her home, and a beadboard wall can't be missing. Let's see how she did it!

It looks so much better!

Creating a beadboard peg wall is a simple and effective way to add charm and character to an otherwise boring space, whether that's a laundry room or entryway.

To start this DIY project, Bailey used a 4x8 beadboard paneling sheet she got from Lowe's, which she cut down into a few sections after measuring the area first, and installed them using nails and a nail gun.

In case you never heard of "beadboard," it is a type of paneling that features evenly spaced grooves, or "beads," which create a classic and timeless look, as you can see in the video.

Then she added a 3 1/2-inch baseboard on top, which she secured with the nail gun. Bailey also added a smaller section of beadboard on top of that, followed by another 3 1/2-inch baseboard.

Once the beadboard and baseboards were installed, she used some caulk to fill the gaps and create a smooth surface, then masked off the wall before starting to paint the beadboard using a gray-olive color of paint.

After the paint was dry, Bailey added the pegs, using wood glue or industrial glue, and evenly spaced them out across the baseboard sections.

Once the pegs were in place, she let them fully dry for at least 24 hours before hanging anything on them and proceeding with decorating the wall with picture frames.

Another option would be adding a small shelf on top for additional storage or decoration.

I think it turned out great, and not only did she add some character to the area, but she also made use of it, as she can now dry clothes on the pegs or hang jackets on them.
