Canadian Security Footage Shows How Not to Pull Off a Heist

A weird side-effect of watching too many heist movies is that eventually you let yourself be convinced that, "Yeah, I can totally do this too." It should go without saying, but you probably can't and it's harder than it looks.

For an example, look no further than this security footage from a convenience store in Alberta, Canada, after the cashier called the police on a couple allegedly trying to use stolen credit cards. The footage begins as an officer is talking to the couple, just before the man shoves his female partner onto the officer and tries to flee out the back. From there things keep, well, let's say, "escalating," to the point where the woman tries to escape through the ceiling. The footage from multiple security cameras are all edited together into a Keystone Cops-esque montage:

The footage serves as an excellent example of a cop who manages to keep his head during an insane situation and manages to successfully not fire on unarmed suspects. And for anyone planning crimes out there, it's probably best to not base your plans off of episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
