An unlikely combination that kinda works? College hockey players and Taylor Swift.

Players for the University of British Columbia’s Thunderbirds hockey team are gaining traction on TikTok after revealing their favorite Taylor Swift songs. Their responses, demonstrating a surprisingly vast knowledge of Taylor’s discography, made many fans swoon in the comments.

“Our Song,” says one player.

“What’s the one where she’s in her bedroom with the signs?” asks another, referencing “You Belong With Me.”

One teammate named two of Taylor’s newer tracks: “Cardigan” or “Willow.”

“‘Back to December,'” says a different player. “Huge Taylor Swift guy,” he adds.

“Love Story,” “Shake It Off,” “Style” and “22” are also referenced.

“god i love hockey players”

Swifties, the name affectionately given to Taylor Swift fans, took to the comments to share their reactions.

“bro the guys who said cardigan, willow, back to December and tear drops on my guitare omg. I love these men,” wrote @whotfislivdufresne.

“god i love hockey players,” said @kaylaalessi.

“surprised some of them knew the ones they said,” commented @ashkash07.

“Can we talk about how knowing and liking Taylor Swift is a huge green flag,” wrote @swiftayty.

If there’s anything these hockey players have taught us, it’s that Taylor Swift fans can be found even in the most unlikely of places like a college ice rink.
