Campers enjoy Memorial Day weekend at lake despite severe weather

EDMOND, Okla. (KFOR) — Hundreds of people still went to enjoy their Memorial Day weekend at the lake despite the forecast of severe weather.

Kimberly Boggs and her husband were camping at Arcadia Lake on Saturday and she said they had been planning this trip for months.

“If it rains, it rains,” said Boggs. “We actually like the storms, we might sit and watch it.”

Severe weather was predicted to hit the metro and Edmond thankfully missed most of the storms.

Campers said they were going to make the best of the situation no matter what happened.

“We like to sleep in the rain, in the tent, the sounds that it makes, that’s great we love that,” said Gail Broad, a camper.

Overall, people said they plan to camp for as long as they can and enjoy the weekend ahead.

“When the good Lord wants to take me, he’s going to take me,” said Charles Broad, a camper.
