Campbell's Reveals the Most Popular Thanksgiving Side Dishes By State

The sides are the best part of Thanksgiving, but one state just couldn't decide.

Campbell's has released its annual "State of the Sides" report ahead of Thanksgiving, and we're here to give you all the deets!

The soup company developed the report through a nationwide survey focused on holiday dishes and seasonal topics, confirming that half of the United States would be perfectly content with having only sides for their meal on Thanksgiving.

The report revealed that 22 states prefer mashed potatoes while 27 prefer stuffing, but Massachusetts had trouble taking a stance, marking it the only state who was split down the middle.

Stuffing is reportedly America's favorite Thanksgiving side dish, followed by mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, and mac and cheese.

Other facts in the report included that Arkansas, Alaska, and Idaho are among the states that don’t like when their sides touch—and that’s why the company created the Campbell’s Holiday Sides Plate, allowing consumers to perfectly separate their sides on one plate.

"The results are in, and Americans love the sides," said VP of Marketing Gary Mazur. "Campbell's has proudly shared its Green Bean Casserole each holiday season, but we're excited to celebrate even more joy this season by introducing new side dishes recipes, from mashed potatoes to mac and cheese. Our new Holiday Sides Plate embodies the brand's joy for the season, while more importantly, giving back to help feed communities in need."

Consumers can purchase the Campbell's Holiday Sides Plate for $15 on SidesSeason.com, with all proceeds going to Feeding America.
