Campbell County Sheriff’s Office and Liberty University team up for free self-defense classes

CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office has announced that it is teaming up with Liberty University to offer a safety awareness program for women.

Starting on May 14, the Sheriff’s Office will host a women’s self-defense class for women 16 and older.

“Women’s Self-Defense: Plan, Prepare, Prevent, Prevail: Plan, Prepare, Prevent, Prevail” is hoping to help participants:

  • Become ‘Danger Aware

  • Establish Boundaries

  • Gain Valuable Tactics to Keep You Safe

  • Learn Simple Escapes From Unwanted Contact

The program will be held at the Rustburg Ruritan Club, at 200 Colonial Highway, in Rustburg. On May 14 and June 11, participants have the chance to learn different techniques and skills to defend themselves.
