  • In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Camila Morrone shared her opinion on the scrutiny her relationship with Leonardo DiCaprio often receives.

  • Morrone and DiCaprio share a 23-year age gap.

  • "I just think anyone should be able to date who they want to date," Morrone said during the interview.

It seems as though people are always fascinated by age-gap relationships, and that's definitely the case with Leonardo DiCaprio, 45, and Al Pacino's stepdaughter, Camila Morrone, 22. Since they were first romantically linked, the two raised a lot of eyebrows and brewed criticism for their 23-year age gap.

In a new interview with the Los Angeles Times, Morrone discussed how she felt about the speculation regarding her relationship with DiCaprio. She revealed, "There's so many relationships in Hollywood—and in the history of the world—where people have large age gaps. I just think anyone should be able to date who they want to date."

Morrone understands the curiosity about her relationship, though, and told the publication, "I probably would be curious about it too."

The actress rarely acknowledges her relationship with her Academy Award–winning boyfriend, but when she does, she tends to be on the receiving end of a lot of criticism.

This past July, she posted a photo of iconic old Hollywood couple Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart, who had a 25-year age gap. "A love like this," she captioned the pictures.

The photo received mixed responses from her followers. While some supported her for living her true life unapologetically, others had some cheeky comments. One user wrote, "Sorry, but Leo doesn't date anyone over 25."

Morrone, however, has learned to laugh off the trolls. "I've been starting to show my sense of humor more," she told Vanity Fair. "People will always have awful things to say because there's a sense of entitlement and safety behind the screen, but trust me, you don't need to be that angry."
