Camila Mendes On Her "Riverdale" Family

She had no idea they would become best friends.

There's no doubt that the Riverdale cast has completely bonded; the stars of the hit CW series are seen everywhere together — and they've even been known to team up for a riveting game of Truth or Dare or two. In a new interview with The Daily Telegraph, actress Camila Mendes opened up about just how close she and her costars have become.

"I gained a whole new family when I joined this show," the Riverdale star explained to the outlet, adding: "I knew that I was going to get along with these people and they were going to be my co-stars, but I didn’t know they were going to be my best friends." And that tight-knit friendship is definitely clear — all you need to do is look at the countless Instagram photos for concrete proof.

Camila also took time to reflect on how she's rocketed to fame after joining the cast of Riverdale. "I came out of college and kind of stepped right into this, and sometimes I’m like, how did that even happen?" she said while talking to The Daily Telegraph. "How did I get so lucky? How was it so easy?" We definitely think all the viewers got pretty lucky too.
