Camila Gives Cryptic Insight Into 5H Departure
Camila Cabello left Fifth Harmony under pretty mysterious circumstances around this time last year. One day, the girls were all smiles. The next day, Fifth Harmony announced Camila had sprung that she was leaving the band on them through her representatives while Camila insisted the girls knew what she was planning to do and that she never intended to leave the band this way. Nobody knew WHAT to think. Did Camila quit, or was she thrown out?! So many questions!
Well, now Camila is offering a little more insight into why she left the band and why she refuses to reveal all the gritty details.
"A lot of my fans were, or are, fans of the group," she told Rolling Stone when asked what led to her departure in a new interview. "I don't like to ruin the dream."
Although Camila remains committed to not taking digs at her time in Fifth Harmony or blasting her former bandmates, she does suggest that being in Fifth Harmony wasn't as awesome as it seemed from the outside looking in.
"[The fans] believed in something that's beautiful," Camila continued, drawing a comparison with Fifth Harmony's male counterparts, One Direction. "I'm sure with One Direction, too, nobody really saw behind the scenes. You just see the dream."
It seems like we didn't know the half of what the girls were going through backstage. Even though part of us really wants to know what exactly led up to 5H's split, it's awesome that Camila still respects Fifth Harmony and her fans enough to keep the ~dream~ alive instead of feeding into the drama.
