Camila Coelho's Favorite Brazilian Dessert Is So Easy To Recreate At Home

Influencer Camila Coelho walked Delish through one of her favorite traditional desserts called brigadeiro. The chocolate treat uses only a few ingredients and is super easy to recreate at home.

"It reminds me of my childhood. Every kid's party you would find brigadeiro," Camila said before starting the tutorial. She describes the Brazilian dessert as "mini chocolate balls," noting they require a simple list of ingredients: butter, cocoa powder, condensed milk, chocolate sprinkles, and baking foil (as in, cupcake foil cups) if you want to make them fancy.

You'll start by melting the butter on low heat on your stove top, then you'll add in the condensed milk to the pot. From there, combine the cocoa powder to give it all the sweetness. Camila suggests using three scoops of cocoa powder if you want more of a milk chocolate taste and four scoops if you prefer dark chocolate. Although she says she's more of a salty snack person, she loves brigadeiro because it reminds her of her home Minas Gerais, Brazil.

Once all of the ingredients are combined and thickened, you'll want to let the mixture cool down for at least 10 minutes. After that, it will be the right texture to be formed into little balls. Camila's pro tip: Lather your hands with butter before rolling the mixture so you don't get too messy. The finishing touch is rolling the balls in chocolate sprinkles and placing them in the baking foil for picture perfect presentation.

"Ever person that I know that's not from Brazil and has tried brigadeiro loves it," she said. No surprise there!
