Camila Cabello on That Time Blue Ivy Shushed Her Parents During Her 2018 Grammys Speech

In a new radio station interview Camila Cabello opens up about that Grammys moment: when Blue Ivy shushed Beyoncé and Jay-Z during Cabello's Grammys speech.

It was the "shush" moment seen 'round the world: During Camila Cabello's moving speech about immigrants at the 2018 Grammy Awards, Blue Ivy was filmed in the audience gesturing toward her parents, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, to calm the hell down. No one knows why Blue Ivy signaled to her parents to stop clapping and hush up during Cabello's speech, but Twitter was enthralled by it. Of course, Blue Ivy is just 6 years old—so there was probably nothing malicious or mean-spirited behind this supposed "shush"—but that didn't stop the Internet from turning it into some (admittedly hilarious) memes.

And that didn't stop Cabello from feeling weird about the incident, either. In a new interview with BBC Radio 1, Cabello says she felt insecure after hearing about what Blue Ivy did in the audience.

“I had a moment of insecurity,” she told the station. “I surprised myself. I was like, ‘What does that mean?’...Do you think she didn’t like my speech?” Cabello admits that she had to stop herself from going down a "wormhole" of overthinking the moment. “I literally stopped," she said. "I was like, ‘I’m not gonna think about that.’ ”

Watch her explain this for yourself, below:

“Thank God that I didn’t look down at the crowd while that was happening," Cabello added. "Just seeing [Beyoncé and Jay-Z] there. Actually, just seeing people there. I would've just been like, 'Wow.' The good thing is I had just come off of Kesha's performance, so I was, like, I didn't have time to think about it. You know what I mean?"
