Camila Cabello took to TikTok on Saturday to post a message of unapologetic body positivity. In the video, Camila shares that she was running in the park when she had a moment of self-consciousness about what she was wearing and how her body would be perceived.

“I am wearing a top that shows my belly, and I wasn't tucking it in,” she said, showing the camera her sports bra and stomach. "Because I was running and existing like a normal person that doesn't tuck it in all the time. And I was like, 'Damn.' But then I reminded myself, being at war with your body is so last season.”

The Cinderella star has been vocal in the past about normalizing an unfiltered view of young women’s bodies and rejecting fatphobic beauty standards. In 2019, she shared empowering words of body positivity on her Instagram story after coming across body-shaming headlines about herself in the media.

“Honestly first thing I felt was super insecure just IMAGINING what these pictures must look like, oh no! My cellulite! Oh no! I didn't suck in my stomach!” Camila had written in her posts. "But then I was like... of course there are bad pictures, of course there are bad angles, my body's not made of fucking rock, or all muscle, for that matter, but the saddest part of young girls growing up in an airbrushed world is they're seeking a perfection that's not real."

Camila continued, stating that our society has a “completely unrealistic view of a woman's body.” “Girls, cellulite is normal, fat is normal,” she wrote. “It's beautiful and natural. I won't buy into bullshit today!"

For Camila, that message lives on. In Saturday’s TikTok, she expressed that she is “grateful” for her body and all the things it carries her through. "We are real women with curves and cellulite and stretchmarks and fat. And we gotta own that, baby.” Camila ended her video by playfully running her hand over her body and singing part of En Vogue’s Aretha Franklin cover of “Giving Him Something He Can Feel.”

In the comments of her TikTok, thousands of fans have thanked her for sharing her message, calling her a “role model.” Promoting self-love and appreciation is something Camila has never shied away from, which is clear even in the caption of her video: “I luv my body.”
