Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello have been making fans ask “are they or aren’t they?” for years, with recent events pushing everyone in the direction of “yep, they definitely are.” The singer-songwriters and “Señorita” collaborators have been spotted locking lips, out on date nights, and being all-around adorable, giving fans all the more reason to keep shipping them into the sunset.
In celebration of Shawn’s 21st birthday on Thursday, August 8, Camila took to Instagram with a throwback photo of the pair. In the snap, a younger Shawn is combing through Camila’s hair, reminding us of the time he assisted with some braiding techniques late last year.
But perhaps more telling than the cute pic was the caption. “Happy birthday to this magic human,” Camila wrote alongside the ‘gram, adding three very notable words: “I love you!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️”
The sweet IG tribute wasn't the only way Camila helped Shawn celebrate the big 2-1. People reports that the “Havana” singer was in attendance at Shawn’s birthday party on Thursday, which took place at New York City’s 1 Hotel. Video from the bash shows Shawn and Camila engaging in a passionate kiss as the crowd cheers them on.
And that’s not all; according to Just Jared Jr., Shawn and Camila were spotted hand-in-hand the following day, as they prepared to meet Shawn’s parents for dinner in Brooklyn.
Despite all of the PDA and flirty social media comments, Shawn and Camila have yet to confirm their relationship status. And while that hasn’t stopped fans from filling in the blanks, it remains true that the final word on whether they “are” or “aren’t” will ultimately come from the two stars themselves.
