Camila Cabello Openly Admits She's 'Really, Really' in Love With Shawn Mendes in New Interview

Just two months ago, Camila Cabello wouldn't name names when she discussed being truly in love for the first time, although most people knew she was talking Shawn Mendes, who she'd frequently been photographed kissing in various public places.

Those days of holding back are over: Cabello is very happily Mendes' public girlfriend, and she will talk openly about how much she adores her boyfriend. The singer spoke to UK's Capital Breakfast radio show this morning, gushing to the hosts about their relationship.

"We’re pretty happy," she said when the hosts asked directly about dating him. "I really, really love him a lot." Cabello spoke a little before in the interview about how their work on "Señorita" brought the longtime friends back together.

"There was a period where we didn’t hang out as much just because we were both busy, and this song was really fun because we got to just hang out again like we did on the song we did before, 'I Know What You Did Last Summer,'" she said. "Which was when we got really close....We were like ‘oh yay, we get to be pals and just hang out!’" Then pals became more than pals, and the rest is history.

Cabello spoke in the October issue of ELLE about how the couples' shared decision to keep their relationship (kind of) secret initially may have ultimately created more buzz. "I don’t know; people can say whatever they want to say," she started. "They can speculate, but at the same time, we are going to live our own lives, enjoy it, and fall for each other like nobody is watching. That is how I want to live. I never want to open the door for people to feel like they are involved. Like I said, I want it to be mine and [his]. That’s why I’m so tight-lipped about it: because I want to protect it."
