Camila Cabello’s album broke a HUGE record less than 24 hours after it was released

We’ve been big fans of Camila Cabello’s since her Fifth Harmony days. We’re listening to her debut solo album, Camila, on repeat. Even though it just came out on Friday, January 12th, it already broke a HUGE record — less than 24 hours after it was released. We are so happy for her. Of course, along with the rest of the world, we were crushed when Cabello quit Fifth Harmony in December of 2016. But we’re very glad that Cabello went off and made new music, aka the album we keep playing on repeat.

So, what record did Cabello break? Camila went straight to number one on iTunes in over 100 countries, including the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Brazil, and Japan. Meaning that the singer broke the record for earning the most iTunes number one positions for a female artist’s debut album. That deserves a standing ovation!

In case you missed it, the album wasn’t always called Camila. Since it was first announced, it changed names — from The Hurting. The Healing. The Loving to, simply, Camila. We love both names, but we’re so glad the 20-year-old singer extraordinaire owned it with a self-titled debut album. Billboard also named it their album of the week on January 11th, which is also a big deal. Again, we don’t blame them a bit.
