Cameron Diaz Isn't Ruling Out a Return to Acting

Two years after confirming her retirement from acting, and six years since starring in a film, Cameron Diaz may finally be ready to reprise her role as an A-list actress.

In a new interview with her makeup artist and longtime friend, Gucci Westman, the Golden Globe-nominee teased a possible return to Hollywood. "So, obviously, everybody wants you to go back to acting," Gucci said, and without letting her finish the sentence, Cameron replied: "You know, look, I'm never going to say never because I'm not a person who says never about anything, clearly."

While she's keeping her options open, fans shouldn't expect to see her on the big screen anytime soon. Instead, Cameron is happy being a full-time mom and wife. "I love being married. The best thing that's ever happened to me is finding my husband, our partnership, his friendship," she told Gucci during their discussion.

Meanwhile, in another recent interview, the 47-year-old opened up about motherhood, calling it the "best, best, best part" of her life. "I’m so, so grateful and so happy and it’s the best thing ever and I’m so lucky to get to do it with Benji and we’re just having the best time. It’s so great. I’m just thrilled," she said of her new role as a stay-at-home mom.

Back in 2018, Selma Blair first revealed that Diaz was done with acting, and weeks later, Cameron herself confirmed the news. While speaking with Entertainment Weekly alongside Blair and Christina Applegate about a sequel to The Sweetest Thing, she said: "I'm totally down. I'm semi-retired, too, and I am actually retire, so I would love to see you ladies."

Maybe all hope isn't lost.
