CALS announces 2024 Six Bridges Book Festival dates

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Central Arkansas Library System is bringing the Six Bridges Book Festival to Little Rock this fall.

This year the festival will be held Sept. 23-29. Event officials said that most of the events will be held at the CALS Library Square in downtown Little Rock and is free to the public.

The event will have book signings, readings, panel discussions and more programs. It will also feature award-winning and emerging authors along with a chance for students to meet in person.

Sen. Joyce Elliott, the festival’s chairperson, said the event is a more than just a gathering for readers and authors.

“Books have an incredible power to unite us, to connect our diverse experiences, and to ignite our imaginations,” Elliott said. “The Six Bridges Book Festival is more than a gathering of authors and readers; it’s a celebration of our shared love for stories and the communities they create.”

The first round of authors include: Kamilah Cole, Garrard Conley, Eli Cranor, Brian Fairbanks, Margot Livesey, Bettina L. Love, Elliott West, Crystal Wilkinson, Phillip B. Williams.

On Sept. 23, there will be an event to raise funds for the Six Bridges Book Festival at 5:30 p.m. To purchase tickets, visit CALS.org.
