Warning: Major spoilers for the When Calls the Heart season 8 finale, "The Kiss," ahead.

Elizabeth (Erin Krakow) finally decided who calls her heart.

In Sunday's season 8 finale of When Calls the Heart, aptly titled "The Kiss," Elizabeth committed to her forever love, finally putting an end to her love triangle with Nathan (Kevin McGarry) and Lucas (Chris McNally). About halfway through the episode, Elizabeth broke the news to Nathan, telling him that she loves him, but is not in love with him. For a moment, it seemed like Elizabeth waited too long for Lucas — when she went looking for him, he had already fled town. But as she was taking a breather on the bridge, Lucas appeared and, well, the rest is history. Watch (and prepare to swoon):

In the weeks (months? years?) leading up to this moment, Hearties shared their predictions about who Elizabeth would choose: Many suspected that she'd end up with Lucas since he's the safer, steady choice, but a large number remained hopeful that she'd be able to look past Nathan's similarities to her late husband Jack.

In fact, many #TeamNathan fans took to Twitter right after the finale aired to vent. One Twitter user feels as though When Calls the Heart missed the mark, failing to show "the beauty of a blended family" with Nathan and his newly-adopted niece, Allie (Jaeda Lily Miller), and Elizabeth and her son, little Jack.

Others are quick to point out the fact that Nathan has cared for little Jack from the very beginning, something that is obviously important to Elizabeth. On the contrary, we haven't seen a lot of interaction between Lucas and little Jack.

Some Hearties even question why the show continued this storyline after Elizabeth shut down Nathan when he professed his love to her earlier in the season.

Of course, there are two sides to this love story: #TeamLucas fans are incredibly excited for what's ahead, especially since season 9 will show us a different side of Elizabeth and Lucas as they explore their courtship. One Twitter user is even going so far as to say that Elizabeth and Lucas are "setting up one of the greatest love stories of our time."

But let's not forget, Elizabeth's happiness remains at the forefront. One fan took a minute to remind others that Hearties should always be #TeamElizabeth, now more than ever.

Keep in mind that in an interview with Good Housekeeping, Erin offered an important reminder for fans who may be disappointed by the final outcome. "Remember just how challenging her journey has been, how emotional it was for her to lose Jack. Try to reframe your support of one gentleman caller over the other into support for Elizabeth and her journey to find love again."

If you still haven't warmed up to the idea of Elizabeth and Lucas as a couple, it may help to hear a message from the actor himself. Just after the finale aired, Chris spoke directly to those who have threatened to leave the show following Elizabeth's decision, reminding fans that there are still more stories to tell in Hope Valley.

Luckily, Nathan isn't going anywhere, so #TeamNathan fans will still get their fix. Season 9 will show Nathan as he mends his broken heart and possibly, moves on with someone new. "I think there should be a little bit of mourning that we see at the beginning of season 9 that Nathan's going to have to go through," Kevin told ET. "We've all seen the guy gets the girl and the happy ever after, but the guy that doesn't is still on the show, so there's this whole different storyline that's going to come out of it."

Let's make one thing clear: You have to keep watching if you want to see how everything pans out for Elizabeth, Lucas and Nathan. So, maybe, don't give up on When Calls the Heart just yet.
