At Calliope, small batch items and one-of-a-kind products from makers all over the world are the name of the game, and a rotating inventory means that you'll basically always be finding cool new items to add to your collection, or even just daydream about. The store, owned by couple Caroline and Michael Ventura, is definitely inspiration-worthy, so it's fitting that it shares its name with the Greek muse of epic poetry.

Inside, you'll find an eclectic mix of pieces that are full of personality, with playful shapes, bright colors, and global designs, in a range of styles from contemporary to mid-century. Furniture, textiles, books, art, you name it-Calliope sells a little bit of everything. As their catchphrase says, "It should be fun," and there's certainly no shortage of fun finds in stock.

While the products themselves are unique and interesting, the store itself has quite the history, too. The building used to be home to a chandlery, where ship equipment and sails were made, and you can still get a feel for the store's history thanks to its industrial, reclaimed aesthetic.

You can visit Calliope in New York City's West Village neighborhood, at 349 W 12th Street, or check out their selection on the store's website. You can shop Wednesdays through Sundays during store hours, or set up an appointment to visit on Mondays and Tuesdays, if you prefer.
