Calling All Jets, Sharks & Leather Jacket Owners: Steven Spielberg Is Casting His ‘West Side Story’ Movie Remake

Former theater kids, now’s your chance: Steven Spielberg is officially casting his West Side Story remake.

Yesterday, The Post director released a casting breakdown for four roles: Maria, Tony Anita and Bernardo. What are the requirements? All applicants must be able to dance, sing, and (we imagine) snap. Aspiring Anitas and Bernardos must be able to speak Spanish.

Tony Kushner (Angels in America) will pen the script for the adaptation of Robert Wise’s 1961 musical drama.

No details about the filming schedule or release date have dropped, meaning we still have plenty of time to practice our scales...and learn how to snap.
