  • Steve Madden's Slinky Platform Sandal, the iconic "it" shoe of the '90s, is returning to Urban Outfitters.

  • The shoe will be sold in lime, hot pink, and nostalgic black.

Do you ever find yourself perusing your closet and musing, I wish I could return to the late '90s when chunky wedges reigned supreme and every insecurity could be solved with a mini butterfly clip holding back exactly two pieces of hair? Well, the Steve Madden shoe lords have heard your call. They're launching a new capsule collection at Urban Outfitters that will feature the memorable peep toe slides with a colorful twist.

The "Slinky" Platform Sandal ($70) is now available in the black you'll remember from the ace "lewk" you assembled for your last Ricky Martin concert, as well as jazzy neon pink and lime green for spring. There's also a retro thong option ($60), if you're so inclined.

Though Steve Madden previously re-released a similar version in 2017, they weren't offered in the trendy tones. And, of course, it's not the first time Urban Outfitters has really given into those '90s vibes. It any given moment, you can glance through the site and be haunted by (delighted by?) ghosts of your wardrobe past. From vintage-inspired Tommy Jeans logo shirts to FILA emblazoned crewnecks, they're providing millennials a taste of the fashions that once lined the armoires of many self-proclaimed "'90s gals and guys."

To that end, Steve Madden said in a press release, “Since the very beginning, it’s been all about platforms for us. We figured now was the perfect time to re-invent these styles in a fun and exciting way and there wasn’t a better partner than Urban Outfitters.”

While I'm still angry with myself for not having the foresight to know all of my matching Adidas tracksuits would make a come back-because there's nothing an unathletic teen needs more than tearaway basketball pants in every color-I'm personally reluctant to relive this sartorial chapter. However, I will say, if you're flirting with a purchase, there were few shoes more comfortable (or leg elongating) than those oh-so-squishy slides.
