California's Bear Valley Resort Has Been Sold

California's Bear Valley Resort has been sold to California Mountain Resort Company, according to a press release obtained by POWDER.

The announcement comes on the heels of a record-breaking season which saw a whopping 668 inches of snowfall. California Mountain Resort Company also owns and operates Mountain High, China Peak, and Dodge Ridge in California. Check out the announcement below:

Tim Cohee, President of California Mountain Resorts Company said the following about the acquisition of Bear Valley:

"Bear Valley represents more than a destination; it's a tapestry of historical mountain escapades and time-honored traditions. The journey ahead is riddled with challenges, but I am optimistic. With the dedication of our team and Tim Schimke's unparalleled leadership, we are poised to meet and surpass these challenges. Our goal remains steadfast: to revive and amplify the Bear Valley legacy for one and all."

All four of California Mountain Resorts Company's properties will be available to ski on The Cali Pass, an unlimited access pass product offered by the company.

The general reaction from Bear Valley skiers is one of relief. There was fear that the resort would not open again this season without a new owner. California Mountain Company has ensured that won't be the case.

Remember that viral photo of a ski patroller standing next to a buried chairlift? That was taken at Bear Valley just last season. See below:
