California Resort Sees Snowiest February In Over Two Decades

Officials at Big Bear Mountain Resort, CA, announced yesterday that "it’s official, this is the snowiest February since at least 2000."

With 12-21 inches of new snow since yesterday, and flakes still falling as we speak, it's a snowy stretch for Big Bear.

Snow Valley has received more than 10 feet of snow so far in February (121"). Bear Mountain and Snow Summit have both reported 99" in February.

Snow Valley and Snow Summit offer night skiing on select dates, so skiers can enjoy this powder under the lights.

Bear Mountain has a snow depth of 36-50 inches with a season total of 112 inches, Snow Summit has 36-50 inches with a season total of 112 inches, and Snow Valley has a snow depth of 24-40 inches with a season total of 133 inches.

According to officials at Big Bear, they have now had their snowiest February on record (since at least 2000 when detailed snowfall record-keeping began).

With 99” for the month and counting, there's still another week left. Based on how things have been going, we could see another foot, at least! (The next snowfall isn't predicted to hit Bear until Monday, but hey, you never know.)
