Living longer, healthier lives is what everyone is after, which makes it no surprise just how popular the concept of "Blue Zones" has become. And if you don't live in one, it's OK, because plenty of Airbnb rentals are available, so you can visit these longevity destinations any time.

Just in case you've missed this phenomenon, Blue Zones is a term first coined by researcher Dan Buettner to define regions home to some of the longest-living and healthiest people in the world. He Buettner has named five places where you're more likely to find people living well into their golden years — including many where centenarians are commonplace. Those destinations are Ikaria, Greece; Okinawa Prefecture, Japan; Sardinia, Italy; the Nicoya Peninsula; Costa Rica; and Loma Linda, California.

And it's that last stop, in Loma Linda, we want to particularly discuss, as it's the most accessible for American travelers looking to gain insight into living their best (and longest) lives.

While almost all of Southern California can be described as paradise, Loma Linda offers something extra special. Here, the Blue Zones website explains, people tend to live a full 10 years longer than the average person. Ready to stay? Check out the five most wish-listed Airbnbs in Loma Linda.

Urban Farm Library

The Urban Farm Library is a delightful one-bedroom home filled with, you guessed it, tons of books for you to flip through during your stay. Relax in the cozy living room, or curl up with a good book out in the manicured gardens.

Private Hilltop Villa

Find plenty of solitude at the Private Hilltop Villa. The gorgeous four-bedroom home comes with an expansive private property punctuated by a furnished patio and pool, so you can take a dip and a deep breath without another soul around.

No Chores Home

You’re on vacation, which means you shouldn’t be doing any housework. And that’s what makes the No Chores Home so great. Make yourself comfortable in the one-bedroom house that sits in a quiet neighborhood and comes with a private backyard so you can relax, and then leave, without having to lift a finger.

Home with Pool

Book a stay at this quaint California bungalow-style home for a retreat from your day-to-day. The home includes four bedrooms, making it possible to bring your entire family along for an adventure, as well as a spacious patio and pool in the back so you can gather together as a family and share the Blue Zone love.

Loma Linda Home

If you need one more oversized stay option, this Loma Linda home is for you. The home can comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests, which is a spectacular number for small family reunions, birthday party getaways, or just to gather a few of your nearest and dearest, so you can reap all the positive, longevity-inducing benefits of spending time with those you love.
