With Outlander on a filming hiatus between seasons 7—which will premiere on June 16—and season 8, star Caitríona Balfe, who plays Claire Fraser, has found her next project.

Balfe will be joining Rami Malek, Rachel Brosnahan and Laurence Fishburne in the upcoming motion picture thriller, Amateur, Deadline reports.

While it is unclear as yet what her role will be in the film, the story is described as follows: “Amateur follows CIA cryptographer who, after his wife is tragically killed in a London terrorist attack, demands his bosses go after them. When it becomes clear they won’t act due to conflicting internal priorities, he blackmails the agency into training him and letting him go after them himself.”

In a previous hiatus from Outlander, the Dublin-born actress had filmed a supporting role in Belfast. Nominated for seven Oscars, the film won a statuette for Best Original Screenplay. While Balfe wasn’t nominated for an Oscar, she did receive a nomination for Best Supporting Actress from BAFTA.

Her previous film credits include Ford v Ferrari and Escape Plan.

Balfe will once again be seen as Claire Fraser when Outlander returns for its seventh season on STARZ on June 16.

The series will pick up right where season 6 ended with Claire being jailed for the murder of Malva Christie.
