Cabo's Waldorf Astoria Is *the* Resort to Visit in Mexico—Lemme Prove It to Ya

I’m typically not into repeat vacations—the world is big and I've got places to see—but I would go back to the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal in a heartbeat, no questions asked. Pre-trip, I had heard this resort was one of the nicest in Mexico, and one of the best Waldorf Astoria properties in the world, so my expectations were high. I'm pleased to report that my expectations weren’t just met, but they were totally exceeded. I've been to hotels and resorts all over Mexico (Punta Mita, Cancun, Cozumel, Tulum...the list goes on), and the Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal is an easy favorite...and totally worthy of a second (or third or fourth) visit, IMO.

Stay

Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal: Yes, the resort was immaculate and stunning, and yes, my room was huge and had its own private plunge pool, but it was the little things that really got me. Like how you can hear the waves crashing on the beach when you’re sleeping (in what just might be the comfiest hotel bed ever, btw). And how chips and guac are delivered to your balcony for happy hour every day at 4 pm. And how there’s a bottle of Clase Azul with matching blue and white glasses in your room when you arrive. And how the staff always just ✨magically✨ appears whenever you need something, be it a wine refill at the pool or an extra cup of coffee at breakfast.

All those tiny details made my experience exceptional, and are probably why there were a ton of honeymooners and other people celebrating special occasions at the resort. I’d 10/10 recommend this place for a long, relaxing weekend away, or to celebrate something like an anniversary, babymoon, or milestone birthday.

Pool time: When I’m at a tropical resort, I normally like to make a beeline for the beach and post up there all day. But the Waldorf Astoria, like many resorts in Cabo, is situated on a stretch of shoreline with massive waves and rip currents that make swimming impossible. So let's just say spending the day at the beach isn't really an option. I was bummed about this for, like, 2.5 seconds...until I saw the massive infinity pool.

The pool sits right on the sand so you get the full "beach experience"—complete with an ocean breeze and view of the waves—while you swim, hang at the pool bar, or chill in one of the plush, oversize lounge chairs that surround its perimeter. And the pool service is next-level. You can order everything from sushi to smoothies, and the servers are always coming around with complimentary snacks and drinks. *Swoon.*

Beach walks: The beach in Cabo might not be great for swimming, but it is beautiful for an early morning or evening stroll. Every morning I woke up early, grabbed a coffee, and watched the sky turn from purple to blue as the sun rose over the ocean. Truly the perfect way to start the day.

Spa treatments: As one of Cosmo's beauty editors, it's quite literally my job to review spas, which means my standards are high. Luckily, my experience at their in-house spa, like everything else at the resort, was something special. The space itself is stunning—complete with an indoor/outdoor pool for swimming, a steam and sauna room, and multiple cozy lounge areas—and the treatment menu is extensive. I tried the Rose Crystal Lymphatic Facial, which started with a traditional Mexican foot soak followed by 80 minutes of pure facial massage bliss.

Wellness activities: I visited the property during one of their "Global Wellness Weekends," so I got to try a bunch of different wellness experiences designed to nurture the mind and body. While just relaxing at the resort did wonders for my well being, all the extra offerings—especially the morning yoga on the beach—really helped me unplug during my stay.

Eat

Don Manuel's: This is the main restaurant at the resort, which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The breakfast buffet is fantastic, and the lunch menu has a ton of different salad and taco options that you can enjoy either at the restaurant or poolside. They have a regular dinner menu as well, but I got to try the "Wine & Dine Around The Globe" experience—a private, 10-course tasting menu paired with wines from around the world. It's a must-try for foodies.

El Farallon: No exaggeration, this is one of the most beautiful restaurants I've ever eaten at. El Farallon, another eatery within the resort, is perched on a cliff over the ocean, which feels right considering the menu largely features seafood. I had the Totoaba, a local Mexican fish that kinda reminded me of sea bass—so good! For the best experience, try to book your table an hour before sunset so you can really enjoy the view.
