Buzz Aldrin Marries 'Longtime Love' on His 93rd Birthday

Famed astronaut Buzz Aldrin has gotten married!

The moonwalker, who turned 93 on Friday, Jan. 20, celebrated the occasion by marrying his "longtime love," Dr. Anca Faur, in Los Angeles.

Aldrin announced the news on Twitter that same day, adding that he was also being honored by Living Legends of Aviation, an award for achievements in the aerospace industry.

"On my 93rd birthday & the day I will also be honored by Living Legends of Aviation I am pleased to announce that my longtime love Dr. Anca Faur & I have tied the knot," he wrote on the social media platform. "We were joined in holy matrimony in a small private ceremony in Los Angeles & are as excited as eloping teenagers."

He also shared a selection of photos of the happy couple from their ceremony, where Faur, 63, wore a beautiful sheer gown with floral and sequined accents and Aldrin wore a black suit decorated with a few of his badges of honor.

This marks Aldrin's fourth marriage. Per Yahoo, he married his first wife, Joan Archer Aldrin, in 1954. They had three children together before divorcing 20 years later. He married Beverly Van Zile in 1975, divorcing in 1978, and in 1988, he married Lois Driggs Cannon. The pair separated in 2011 and divorced in 2013.

Twitter users were thrilled by the news, sending their love and well wishes for a happy year and happy marriage.

"Happy birthday, Buzz, and congratulations on your marriage. I’m thrilled for you. As always, you did it in style," one wrote.

"I'm glad y'all are keeping in each others' orbit!" said another.

"Well done Buzz, you must be over the moon," joked another.
