Netflix's new series Buying Beverly Hills is proving to be a big hit during its first week of streaming. The show dropped on November 4 and has remained within the top ten rankings since. Similar to real estate-related shows like Selling Sunset, fans have been basking in all the glamour of luxury properties, and of course, the drama that follows the agents who make the sales happen.

But one agent in particular that has caught viewers' attention is Sonika Vaid. The 27-year-old singer-turned-realtor made waves in the entertainment industry years before many of her costars.

Here's everything to know about Sonika Vaid, including her singing career, net worth, and romance on the show.

Who is Sonika Vaid?

Before moving to Los Angeles, California, Sonika was raised in Weston, Massachusetts. She is of Indian descent and graduated from Boston University with a degree in business and marketing, but wanted to pursue music.

Then in 2019, she made the switch to selling homes as an executive assistant for The Agency RE, according to her LinkedIn. Her profile also states that she grew up around real estate developers and investors, which sparked her interest in design and architecture.

She's currently an agent of the Grauman Rosenfeld Team and contributed to the team’s $680M of sales in 2022, according to her realtor bio.

Sonika took to Instagram to share her change of course last year. "Swipe to see my close of escrow smile 😬," she wrote. "On a serious note, I sell homes in LA, and I'm so excited to share this chapter of my life with you all. And, YES, I am still doing music. How could I ever stop?!"

She's a former American Idol contestant.

This won't be Sonika's first time on reality TV. She finished in fifth place on season 15 of American Idol in 2016. For her final songs, she sang "Let It Go" from Frozen and "Clarity" by Zedd. She also got compliments from judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick Jr. throughout her time on the show.

And although she didn't win, she still pursued music and landed coverage from Radio Disney! E! News, Entertainment Tonight, and Cosmopolitan. Last March, she shared a photo of herself recording music in a studio. "Cookin 🥄 👀," she captioned the post.

Sonika dated another agent from the show.

At the time of filming, Sonika was in a relationship with fellow realtor Kevin Stewart. The two started dating in January 2020, but it's unclear if they're still together now.

Sonika doesn't have any photos of them on her page and doesn't follow Kevin. Meanwhile, Kevin still has pictures of them that date back to their first anniversary, and he still follows Sonika. Their last photo together was shared back in June.

She calls her mom her "hero."

Sonika has a super tight bond with her mother. In September, she posted a sweet video of her and her mother singing, dancing, and having a cup of coffee together.

"Sunday morning with my mom ♥️," she wrote. "She is my hero, my greatest inspiration, and my best friend. go hug your mom today people."

Sonika's a dog lover.

If you already follow Sonika on her social media, you'll know that her dog Oscar makes appearances on the regular. Whether she's going out to a restaurant or doing a photoshoot, trust that he's always by her side.

But when she's not hanging out with Oscar, she can be found hanging out with other pups just for the fun of it. "Who’s watching? 👀 I swear I was about to adopt all of these little babies at Milldale," she captioned a recent post.

What is Sonika's net worth?

A large portion of Sonika's net worth stems from her music career that took off following American Idol. However, when combined with the percentage she takes home from selling million-dollar properties, her net worth is estimated to be about $1.5 million, per The Cinemaholic.
