What to Buy at Williams Sonoma's Fall Sale

The end of summer and the start of fall means sales: specifically a Williams Sonoma sale. This weekend, take advantage of Williams Sonoma's Fall Kickoff Sale Event, where you can get a whole bunch of appliances, cookware, and kitchen tools at up to 50 percent off with the promo code "FALL". Below are some of the deals on our favorite, tested-and-approved kitchen products.

Instant Pot Du Plus

The Instant Pot DuoPlus is on sale at Williams Sonoma this weekend, in the 3-, 6-, and 8-quart sizes. What exactly is the Duo Plus? It's a noticeably tech-ier Instant Pot, with a big blue LCD screen and several more cooking programs (egg cooking, cake-making, and sterilization) than its peers. This model is also allegedly more fingerprint-resistant than other models, and that speaks to who should buy this Instant Pot: somebody who plans to use it a lot.

Fellow Stagg Electric Gooseneck Pourover Kettle

She's a beauty, huh? There's no doubt about it: the Stagg EKG is a fine piece of industrial design. Of course, all that polish comes with a price tag: this kettle costs 50 percent more than even our (relatively pricey) favorite electric kettle. Luckily, you can get it for 50 percent off at Williams Sonoma right now. We love the sleek, matte black finish and the minimalist, turntable-esque design of the square base with its smooth radial knob and bright digital temperature readout.

Phillips Air Fryer

When we set out to find the best air fryer, we didn't want the Philips to win. At it's usual suggested retail price, it's four or five times more expensive than some competitors. But it distinguished itself with panache with sweet potato fries: the Philips cooked a pound and a half of fries with uncanny consistency. They were crunchy. They were evenly browned, crisp on the outside and soft in the middle.

The Philips, as well, had both the easiest and most attractive interface of all the machines we tested, centered around a super-intuitive dial controlling the time and temperature. It’s not just even-cooking and easy to use—it’s also efficient. In all instances it cooked food a few minutes quicker than the other air fryers. Now, the price is reduced. So, what are you waiting for? Get your sweet potato fry on.

Cuisinart Air Fryer Toaster Oven

If you want to air fry but also want a machine that offers more versatility, opt for the Cuisinart Toaster oven. In our product test of the best air fryers, we also tested this dual toaster oven and air fryer (which is to say, it's a convection toaster oven). It has the most space for air to circulate and can be used as an everyday toaster.

<h1 class="title">Zojirushi Induction Rice Cooker</h1>

Zojirushi Induction Rice Cooker

Zojirushi Rice Cooker

When we tested rice cookers, this one made the best-tasting rice, no matter what type we cooked. It coaxed flavors and textures out of the grains that we didn’t know were possible. Medium-grain white rice fluffed up beautifully and had a revelatory texture. The taste was sweet and nutty and the consistency was chewy yet creamy. Short-grain brown rice cooked up in pliant, distinct kernels and long-grain basmati rice was lusciously fluffy. In addition to producing superior rice, the machine was intuitive to use, easy to clean, and every detail exuded quality.

All-Clad Nonstick Fry Pans

Technically, All-Clad's nonstick pan did not win our product test. Truth be told, we had a hard time finding a winner for the test because so many performed well and came with rave staff reviews. Digital Director David Tamarkin stands by his All-Clad, which, like the other top performers, has an aluminum core and multiple layers of PFOA-free coating. That aluminum core means you'll get a level of superior even heating that many cheaper nonstick pans won't afford. Ultimately, it was the expense factor that kept All-Clad from our top spot, even though we trust the brand. Now that price factor is irrelevant since you can get the nonstick pan at a discount. In fact, you can get two of them for a total of $64.

GreenPan Nonstick Fry Pan

If you're looking for a nonstick pan made of completely natural materials, choose a ceramic one. We've seen more ceramic pans lose their nonstick ability over time than non-ceramic PFOA-free pans. However, GreenPan is different. The pan is constructed from hard anodized aluminum, which provides even heating, and has a ceramic nonstick coating that's PTFE- and PFOA-free. It's scratch-resistant, induction-friendly, and oven-safe up to 600 degrees—a huge benefit if you often cook with your nonstick pan in the oven.
