Here’s How to Buy That Viral 12-Foot Skeleton, Because You Know You Want One

From House Beautiful

What’s 12 feet tall, the subject of multiple viral posts, and one of the brightest spots in an otherwise bleak year? The giant social media skeleton, of course! This bad boy started turning heads when it was first released earlier this summer, but now that spooky season is upon us, the larger-than-life Halloween decoration is practically a must-have.

The frenzy began earlier this week when a TikTok featuring one of the behemoths strapped to the roof of a suddenly puny-looking Mini Cooper went viral. Then, on the first day of fall, a tweet with a picture of the comically large skeleton just hanging out in a suburban yard garnered well over half a million likes. Now, the skeleton is a bona fide phenomenon—and, of course, you need to get your hands on one before October 31.

The 12-Foot Giant-Sized Skeleton with LifeEyes is sold by Home Depot, just like plenty of other way-too-big, totally necessary Halloween yard decor. (One particularly endearing picture features the skeleton wearing one of the store’s orange aprons.) On top of being, you know, massive, this guy is set apart by its animated eyes, which are brought to life by LCD screens.

At $299, this skeleton is certainly a splurge, but it’s not all hype—it’s earned 90 5-star reviews at the Home Depot, with shoppers raving about just how big, realistic, and fun it is. “Best Halloween decoration I’ve ever [had],” one reviewer says. “I’m the hit of the neighborhood!” Another writes, “He was SO worth the wait! I am thrilled with the quality and how easy he was to assemble.”

If you’re not willing to shell out quite that much for a Halloween decoration, we understand—and the good news is that we dug up a few similar skeletons that won’t eat into your candy budget. Check out his smaller bony brethren below:
