Here’s How to Buy Trophy Room’s Highly Anticipated Air Jordan 1 Low ‘Rookie Card Away’ Sneaker

Trophy Room, the sneaker boutique owned by Michael Jordan’s son Marcus, has announced the release for the highly anticipated Air Jordan 1 Low “Rookie Card Away.”

As the name suggests, the low-top Air Jordan 1 takes inspiration from Jordan’s 1986 Fleer rookie card. The sneaker also looks to a 1984 Sports Illustrated shot in which Jordan is wearing the Air Jordan 1 “Black Toe” with his Chicago Bulls warm-ups.

The “Rookie Card Away” edition features a “Reverse Black Toe” arrangement with a white leather base, red overlays at the forefoot and black on the heel. Polyester forms those red overlays to invoke Jordan’s uniforms, Jordan’s autograph is stitched onto the heel atop a corduroy-like fabric. A gold-tone metal Air Jordan “Wings” logo also appears sits on the mustache, while the midsole takes on a slightly yellowed tone for a vintage look.

Mismatched insoles are rendered in the same yellow and blue from the rookie card, and perhaps the most thrilling of all the flourishes is actually the custom packaging, which takes the idea of trading cards the furthest.

What sets the “Away” edition from the forthcoming “Home” take on the “Rookie Card” theme, as far as we know now, is the color of the Swoosh. The latter will opt for white.

In promotion of the sneaker release, Trophy Room posted a short film over the weekend to its social media profiles.

The Trophy Room Air Jordan 1 Low “Rookie Card Away” is available through a raffle hosted by Trophy Room that’s open now through 9 p.m. EST Wednesday, March 13. Winners will be notified the next day, and an additional release through the Snkrs app will follow March 21. Pricing is set at $140.
