It's hard to believe that it's been 50 years since the Ingalls family first debuted on the small screen—though the legacy of Little House on the Prairie has lasted the test of time.

The show, which first aired in 1974 and ran through 1982, became a cherished hit right from the start. But that's no surprise since it was based on Laura Ingalls Wilder's semi-autobiographical book series of the same name. The books were beloved by many—including your very own Pioneer Woman.

"I grew up reading the Little House on the Prairie series," Ree Drummond says. "I absolutely adored them."

After all these years, the story of Charles and Caroline (Pa and Ma) and their three daughters, Mary, Laura, and Carrie settling on a farm near Walnut Grove, Minnesota, in the 1800s still holds a special place in our hearts. Although modern-day Western TV shows like Yellowstone and 1883 have been added to our watchlists, there's something so heartwarming about the many life lessons we learned from Little House.

And now that the show is celebrating its 50th anniversary, we can't help but look for ways to honor it.

For starters, you can meet the cast and experience the world of all things Little House at the official 50th Anniversary Cast Reunion and Festival. The three-day event, which takes place from March 22 to 24, 2024, is located at the real-life filming location of the show in Simi Valley, California.

Wondering what the festival entails? You can expect to wander through recreated sets (including the Ingalls house!) and take pictures in front of those recognizable backdrops. There will also be live music, food, activities, and interactive workshops. Best of all, you can get the chance to meet the actors who played your favorite characters. That includes Melissa Gilbert (Laura Ingalls), Alison Arngrim (Nellie Oleson), Karen Grassle (Caroline Ingalls), and more!

Tickets are available for $45 for a 1-Day General Admission pass or $120 for a Three-Day pass. So put on your bonnets and braid your hair because it's time to celebrate Little House on the Prairie.
