Summer's almost here, and with the warm weather comes the bane of our existence (I'm just speaking the truth here)-mosquitoes. The tiny pests annoy us all summer long, and personally, I'm sick of dousing myself in repellant each and every time I have to step outside. Sure, we can buy heavy duty candles and high tech bug zappers, but what if I want add something just a little bit more aesthetically pleasing-and inconspicuous-to my stash of mosquito repellants?

Thankfully, citronella plants actually exist. Yes, you heard that right. The well-known citronella candles are the exact ones that we buy by in bulk every year-and their mosquito-repelling ingredients actually come from a living, breathing plant that's available for purchase.

Amazon is currently selling a pack of three citronella plants-also appropriately called mosquito plants-for around $28, making each one of them less than $10 a pop. You can plant them anywhere: your backyard, driveway, patio, or basically anywhere you find yourself constantly smacking mosquitos off of your arm.

While citronella plants may help aide your efforts in procuring a mosquito-free environment, you'll need more than just this greenery to fully combat the summer pests. Citronella candles are much stronger than their plant counterpart, and other mosquito repelling products will most likely still be needed if your yard is extra buggy in the warmer months.
