Chef Mike Haracz, a former McDonald's corporate chef and TikTok personality, has already taught us so much about how and where to get our favorite Mickey D’s items without actually stepping foot near the golden arches. Chef Mike has given us the skinny on what makes the sauce on a Big Mac so darn good and how to re-create it ourselves. He's also directed us to the right stores to find copycat versions of McDonald's hash browns and chicken nuggets.

Now, he’s letting us in on another secret: We can get breakfast sausages as good as the fast-food chain’s right at Walmart, too.

Where to Get Copycat McDonald's Breakfast Sausage

Who doesn’t love a good breakfast sausage patty to enjoy with their eggs? We know we do, and there is something extra special about the savory patties that McDonald’s serves during those daily breakfast runs.

However, sometimes we might prefer to whip up breakfast in the comfort of our home (and our pajamas). Lucky for us, now we can, while making our tastebuds believe we made a stop at McDonald’s for the breakfast sausage.

On a hunt to find copycat McDonald’s breakfast sausages sold in local retail stores, former McDonald’s corporate chef Mike Haracz said he found just the thing in a recent TikTok video.

After comparing the nutritional information and ingredient statement on McDonald’s website with “a variety of different places and their products,” Walmart’s Great Value pork breakfast sausage patties is the winner.

“The ingredient statements are very close,” says Haracz, which include “pork, water, salt,” and “sweetener” which is about the same in both options, as well as “the natural flavors.”

Haracz says he bought and tried the Great Value brand himself and was happy with the results, even if they were just slightly different than the ones you’d get at McDonald’s.

“The Great Value version has a little more fat in it as well as a different set of preservatives,” he says. “But when I tasted it and cooked it up, it is pretty darn close to the McDonald’s breakfast sausage patty, so enjoy.”

These patties will work perfectly on our egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches, but unlike at McDonald's, we can enjoy our homemade version in our pajamas.
