Pet Supplies Plus in Beckley held it’s “Butch’s Day of Hope” charity event on Saturday, April 20th. Butch was a regular at the store and a staff favorite. Sadly, Butch died from cancer in February. To honor Butch, Pet Supplies Plus organized a donation drive. The store will match every bag or can of dog food the public brings in. Store Team Leader, Beverly Farlin, shared what Butch meant to the team.

“When we lost Butch, it had a big effect on the team because he really did leave paw prints on the heart of everybody here. And we wanted to do something to sort of honor his memory. And with that, we thought maybe, you know, a donation drive to bring awareness to the problem that we have in the area of the shelters. The rescues are struggling right now. There’s more dogs out there than there is placement and donations are down,” said Farlin.

Donations will be given to “Must Love Dog Rescue”. The store also showcased dogs that were available for adoption.
