If you don't already follow Busy Philipps on social media, you will after hearing the strange saga she extensively detailed on Instagram over the weekend. The actress revealed—via an eight-minute Instagram Stories tale—that she and her husband (Marc Silverstein) escaped a creepy Uber driver who picked them up with an even creepier, surprise stranger stored in the backseat. Yup. Sounds like the plot for a Halloween horror film, doesn't it?

But don't think Philipps is actually shook by this incident. She delivered her rant with plenty of laughs and smiles, so it's safe to assume she's in good spirits. That doesn't make the ordeal any less alarming, though.

Here's what went down, per Philipps' Instagram Story: She and Silverstein were picked up by an Uber driver, and they sensed something was off almost immediately.

"The [driver] was really weird and we got in the back," she said. "I said to my husband, 'That guy was weird. Are you sure he's not 'gonna kill us?' And then from the f—ckin' way back, a voice is like, 'I promise that won't happen.'" (Yes, a random additional passenger was hiding in Philipps' Uber and joked about how he wouldn't kill her. If this isn't the ultimate 2017 nightmare, what the hell is?)

Naturally, Philipps lost it and started shouting things like, “No! No! No! No!” and, “I’m not going to be killed today!” She and her husband hopped out of the car quickly and ordered a Lyft instead. To our knowledge, no creepy stowaways were lurking in their second car.

Of course, there might not be a story at all. Silverstein points out at the end of Phillipps' Instagram video that the Uber driver said he received "two calls at once," so it's possible they were just victims of some makeshift Uber Pool situation and not actual stranger danger.

Even still, Philipps stands by her reactions. The situation may have been a misunderstanding, but she still felt sketched out and prioritized her safety over politeness. That's what we all should do. "If you're in a situation, and you feel weird or uncomfortable, don't be polite. Don't worry about whatever. Just scream, 'No!' at the top of your lungs," she said. Heard that.
