The Bush Twins Just Made a Huge Announcement
It's impossible to imagine what it's like to grow up in the White House with the world watching your every move. But Jenna Bush Hager and Barbara Pierce Bush are going to give a peek into that life in a new memoir.
The twins, who lived on 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. while their dad, George W. Bush, served as president from 2001-2009, announced their new project, Sisters First, on Wednesday.
A new site reveals details about the book:
As small children, they watched their grandfather become president; just twelve years later they stood by their father's side when he took the same oath. They spent their college years being trailed by the Secret Service and chased by the paparazzi, with every teenage mistake making national headlines. But the tabloids didn't tell the whole story of these two young women forging their own identities under extraordinary circumstances.
The sisters have been open about the fact that they haven't always been thrilled to have the bright spotlight on them. Before their dad ran for office, Jenna begged him to reconsider. She admitted to Newsweek that she told him in 2000: "Oh, I just wish you wouldn't run. It's going to change our life." But, of course, he ran and won with the twins were 19 years old. The teenagers famously made headlines during their dad's tenure when they were caught using fake IDs: A moment Jenna rehashed with her father just a couple of weeks ago on the Today show:

Jenna has a regular gig as a Today correspondent but Barbara has largely remained out of the spotlight, spending her time working with the nonprofit Global Health Corps.
Sisters First comes out October 24.
