Burger King’s New $1 Tacos Look Absolutely Nothing Like They Did in the Ads

From Cosmopolitan

Earlier this week, Burger King unveiled its limited-edition $1 tacos. And from the look of those promo pics, they could rival T-Bell’s. Or so we thought. Yep, past tense. Turns out, those ads look nothing like the real thing. I’m sad to report that BK is catfishing us all.

ICYMI, the dollar tacos, which hit menus Tuesday, are filled with seasoned beef, shredded cheddar cheese, lettuce, and taco sauce. Sounds like a recipe for success, right? Wrong.

I know. Harsh. But tell me, guys, does this...

YEAH, DIDN’T THINK SO.

I unwrapped my meal with great anticipation and was quickly crushed. This sad, soggy tortilla-beef combo was masquerading as tacos but...couldn’t...possibly...be. Tacos are delicious! Tacos are flavorful! Tacos don’t look like someone straight-up sat on ’em!

Now, I’m gonna level with you. They didn’t taste quite as bad as they looked, although that’s not exactly a ringing endorsement. The taco included all those aforementioned fixings but a very (very!!!!!) limited amount. And the flavor? It was lacking. The taco sauce overpowered the whole thing.

The internet is pretty pissed about it too. “Looks like dog food in a crusty tortilla shell,” one customer tweeted. “I tried your taco today and it was awful. I wept, it was so bad. Took one bite but the taste has lingered with me for over two hours,” another added. So yeah, I’m not the only one with beef.

Burger King, if you’re reading this, I love you. I appreciate you. I respect you. But maybe, juuust maybe, stick to what you already know.
