Update, 7/24/20, 4:54 p.m.: I am back with some sad, sad news. A Burger King rep confirmed to Delish: "Burger King restaurants will no longer be offering the apple pie as part of our dessert menu since our supplier is no longer producing the product." This year is just great, isn't it?

Original post, 7/24/20, 10:50 a.m.: It's a tough day for all the fast food dessert fans out there because Burger King has apparently discontinued sales of its Dutch Apple Pie in the U.S., and, understandably, people are totally freaking out over the news.

According to Chewboom, the fast food chain will no longer be selling its apple pies nationally. It's not clear when exactly this happened but rumors of the discontinuation started swirling earlier this month. As Chewboom pointed out, Burger King's apple pies set themselves apart from those of a lot of other chains' because they were actually slices of pie with gooey apple filling versus the handpie style most other national fast food chains use.

Burger King did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding their apple pies' status. However, we have a good amount of evidence that they are gone. In addition to the report, we took a look at the ordering menu for quite a few Burger King locations and are not seeing apple pies listed as an option. People on social media have been speculating about the Burger King apple pie for the past few weeks as well and a poster on Reddit identifying themselves as a manager said they've been told it's discontinued.

As Chewboom noted, you might still see an apple pie on the menu at your local Burger King for the time being as supplies run out nationally, but according to them, once they're gone, they're GONE. For what it's worth, Burger King is still offering Hershey's Sundae Pies, ice cream, and their new $1 mini milkshakes. I know that cannot replace the pie-shaped hole that is now in all of our hearts, but it'll do.
