It’s the best of both worlds.

Fast-food French fries check all the boxes when it comes to food on the go. They’re hot, salty, crispy, and easy to eat when you’re in the car. But they’re not the only fried food that meets those metrics. Onion rings are equally as delicious, but they’re generally harder to come by at fast-food joints. Between McDonald’s, Wendy’s, and Burger King, only BK offers onion rings.

In June and July, Burger King tested a limited-release side combo featuring both French fries and onion rings. The test was only in Miami and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, but it must have been successful because Burger King has made the combo a permanent menu item.

When the side was tested, it ran with the name Fries n’ Rings. Now, it’s got a new moniker that drives home the brand slogan that guests can “Have It Your Way.” The French fry and onion ring combo will now be known as “Have-sies,” playing on the term “halfsies” (typically used to describe splitting something in two) and the “Have It Your Way” slogan.

According to Pat O’Toole, Chief Marketing Officer, Burger King North America, “We know guests love our onion rings that they can’t get anywhere else, but it’s hard to give up on the classic French fry – so we’re excited to offer both in true BK fashion.”

The combo side will be available a la carte in value, small, medium, and large sizes, and it can be added to any Burger King combo meal as well. If your mouth is watering just thinking about all the crispy, crunchy goodness this side offers, we’re happy to report that you won’t have to wait long. The side will be available nationwide beginning October 12.

What Else Is New at Burger King?

The fried combo isn’t the only new thing coming to BK on October 12. The chain is also bringing back the Ghost Pepper Whopper for the first time since it debuted last year. Plus, Ghost Pepper Chicken Fries are making their first appearance on menus. The spooky-spicy items are available leading up to Halloween, along with limited-edition Burger King crowns available nationally and Burger King Halloween buckets in limited locations.
