Burger King Brings Back the Ghost Pepper Whopper, and a New Spicy Surprise

Go ahead, spice up your fall.

Spooky season is officially here, and Burger King is not missing out on its chance to scare your tastebuds with something spicy.

On Monday, the fast food company announced it’s adding two super spicy meals to its menu — the return of the Ghost Pepper Whopper and its new addition, Ghost Pepper Chicken Fries.

“Earlier this year, we asked guests if we should bring back the Ghost Pepper Whopper or introduce Ghost Pepper Chicken Fries. The results were split, so we’re adding both products to our menus nationwide this Halloween season, giving guests multiple ways to enjoy the perfect combination of flavor and heat,” Pat O’Toole, the chief marketing officer of Burger King North America, shared in a statement. “We’re excited for fans to have a new way to enjoy our signature Chicken Fries and bring back the Ghost Pepper Whopper with an eye-catching orange bun achieved with the use of paprika, showing that spooktacular innovations don’t mean you have to sacrifice quality or flavor.”

The Ghost Pepper Chicken Fries will be available in four, eight, and 12 pieces, with a choice of dipping sauce, while the Ghost Pepper Whopper, which first made an appearance on the menu in 2022, will be crafted with a beef patty as the base with spicy queso, crispy jalapeños, bacon, and ghost pepper cheese on top between two toasted orange buns. But note, those buns may go quickly, as they’re only available while supplies last.

Both menu items will be available on October 13, which also happens to land on a Friday, making it all the spookier. The brand is celebrating with an app-first deal, its Trick or Heat Meal Bundle, available for Royal Perks members. The deal, available October 13 through Halloween day, includes a Ghost Pepper Whopper, four-piece Ghost Pepper Chicken Fry, small French fries, a small fountain beverage, and Hershey Sundae Pie for just $13. (Those looking for something a little less spicy can get the same deal with the original Whopper and Chicken Fries.)

Burger King is also offering one more surprise to fans in select markets — brand-new Halloween Buckets. As People reported, customers in Atlanta, Las Vegas, Nashville, and Charlotte, North Carolina, will be able to snag the limited-edition buckets emblazoned with ghosts and hot peppers for $1 with any purchase. This way, you can bring the heat while trick-or-treating too.
