After Riccardo Tisci took the reins as chief creative officer at Burberry in March, the fashion world has been looking with eager anticipation to see what the Givenchy alum has planned for the new era of Burberry. And on Friday, July 6, Tisci gave us a glimpse of what's to come, as he took to Instagram to announce that Burberry will be teaming up with Vivienne Westwood on a limited edition collection.

Scheduled to debut December 2018, Tisci and Westwood's collection will be made up of "re-imagined iconic styles, in celebration of British style and heritage." The Burberry x Vivienne Westwood collaboration will support the rainforest charity Cool Earth and mark Tisci's first-ever Burberry collaboration.

"Vivienne Westwood was one of the first designers who made me dream to become a designer myself and when I first started at Burberry, I knew it would be the perfect opportunity to approach her to do something," Tisci said in a statement. "She is a rebel, a punk and unrivalled in her unique representation of British style, which has inspired so many of us. I am so incredibly proud of what we will be creating together.”

Tisci's upcoming collaboration with punk designer will follow his debut Burberry collection set to debut this September. He teased a few images from his inaugural collection via Instagram, sharing photos of models in classic Burberry pieces-from the trench coat to quilted jacket and poncho-dubbed the "B Classic."
