A Bunch of Hoka Running Shoes Are On Sale Right Now—Here's Where to Get Your Size

Men’s Journal aims to feature only the best products and services.  If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

The Hoka running shoes star has been rising over the last 18 months with no visible signs of slowing down. That might be because they’re not just cool-looking—shoppers love running in them. And while the average price for a pair of Hokas sits around the $150 mark, the brand has been transitioning toward updated versions in multiple styles, marking down a handful of bestsellers by as much as 50%.

The problem is that when shoppers find out about a Hoka discount, they scoop their size up within days. So, by the time others learn about Hoka’s sale shoes, they’re mostly sold out. That’s a problem Men’s Journal can help with.

For weeks, we’ve stayed on top of Hoka sales for products like the Arahi 6, the Rincon 3, and the Bondi 8. We’ve been tracking what’s still in stock at stores like Zappos, Nordstrom, REI, and others to give you the best chance of finding your size in the color you want.

And while right now you’ll have the most luck shopping at Hoka directly, we’ve found caches of styles available at other retailers when Hoka doesn’t have what you need. Here are four places you can check right now to find your next pair of Hoka running shoes on sale.

Hoka Clifton 8 Running Shoes, $112 (was $140) at Hoka

The Hoka Clifton might be the brand's most popular style. It offers an ideal combination of neutral support with a medium amount of cushioning that keeps feet happy for short runs, daily walks, or eight hours of standing at work. When the news broke about the Clifton 8 being marked down, sizes were quick to sell out at Zappos, Nordstrom, and other retailers. The Hoka website is the best place to find the remaining sizes in this elusive everyday discounted sneaker.

What Shoppers Are Saying: “When putting them on you'll feel like you're on pillows. It may be a bit strange at first, but they're definitely comfortable if you like to go on daily walks, runs, or just work a job where you're constantly on your feet. I come from wearing Ultraboosts and I thought those were good (and they are). But the Clifton 8’s definitely a step up in terms of comfort and breathability.”

Hoka Mach 5 Road-Running Shoes, $113 (was $140) at REI

The Hoka Mach 5 was recently marked down, and we’re expecting sizes to go pretty quickly. This is a neutral running shoe that’ll cradle most foot types like a baby. It has less cushioning underfoot, but that creates a more jolty push-off that’s useful for racing, sprinting, and interval training. It’s also pretty light, at just over half a pound. All colors at REI are on sale right now during the store’s winter clearance sale, which also features plenty of complementary running gear up to 50% off.

What Shoppers Are Saying: “My splits on my 10-mile runs are down by roughly 10 seconds a mile. My recovery from these runs is far better than what I was experiencing with my Nike Pegasus. The colors are dope and the lacing system has not opened on me once! My only struggle is steering away from them on my strength training days because they are so comfy.”

Hoka Arahi 6 Running Shoes, From $98 (was $140) at Zappos

The Hoka Arahi 6 is a low-drop stability shoe that’s a perfect option for everyday running and walking and will best support those who overpronate, or roll their feet inward, when in motion. It really works—we’ve tried it. The shoe is set on a medium cushion, the right amount for everyday impact, and weighs just about 0.6 pounds. This shoe went on sale in December and has all but sold out at other retailers, but Hoka still has the most sizes and colors available.

What Shoppers Are Saying: “I have fallen arches and these shoes changed my situation completely. I have gone through arch support after arch support, barefoot shoes, etc. These are a game changer.”

Hoka Rincon 3 Running Shoes, $100 (was $125) at Foot Locker

Good for everyday wear and racing like the Mach 5, the Rincon 3 is even lighter, weighing just under half a pound. It, too, offers neutral support but has slightly more cushioning underfoot than the Mach 5, which means more protection from impact. The sole also has added zonal rubber, which should slow down overall wear and tear.

What Shoppers Are Saying: “I use this shoe for running/walking on pavement and training for marathons. It's my go-to marathon shoe. It's lightweight with great cushioning, but not bouncy. For a lighter-weight shoe, it holds up very well over long distances. Also, it's a nice-looking color. I give this Rincon 3 an A+.”
