Bumble Told Sharon Stone to Buzz Off Because Users Thought Her Profile Was Fake

Just add "being Sharon Stone" to the list of reasons you might get kicked off of dating app Bumble.

On Sunday night (December 29), the actress took to Twitter to reveal that her very legitimate Bumble profile had been suspended. The reason? People couldn't believe it was actually her!

"I went on the @bumble dating and they closed my account. Some users reported that it couldn’t possibly be me! Hey @bumble, is being me exclusionary ? Don’t shut me out of the hive," she tweeted.

She followed it up with a simple screenshot of her Bumble app, which featured a stark "You've been blocked" message.

"We’re committed to keeping Bumble safe, which means we have to enforce certain rules when our values are violated," the block notice reads. "Your account has been blocked because we’ve received several reports about your profile being fake."

While this is a bummer for Stone, it's pretty exciting to think that if you do happen to see a celebrity on the platform, they may actually end up being the real thing. It really makes you wonder how many

Luckily, the legendary Basic Instinct star didn't have to wait very long for some help getting her account reinstated. Bumble editorial director Clare O'Connor reached out on Twitter to assure Sharon that Bumble "definitely" wants her in the Hive.

"Oh no, @sharonstone! @Bumble editorial director here. We're on the case. Trust us, we *definitely* want you in the Hive. We'll get back to you ASAP." Not long after that, the issue appeared to have been resolved, as the official Bumble Twitter account advised the actress that she definitely wouldn't be blocked again.

"There can only be one Stone," the Bumble account tweeted. "Looks like our users thought you were too good to be true. We’ve made sure that you won’t be blocked again. We hope that everyone in our community takes a sec to verify their profiles. (Catherine Tramell from Basic Instinct gets a pass today!)"

All's well that ends well, at least for Sharon's Bumble profile! And, like Bumble said, we're all hoping she finds her "honey" while perusing the app.
